Dr. Nelligan was born at Sequoia Hospital and raised locally. He attended Stanford University for undergraduate and graduate studies before moving to Chicago for Medical School at Rush Medical College. He interned at prestigious Rush, Presbyterian, St. Luke’s Medical Center before returning to Stanford University Medical Center for Orthopaedic Surgery residency. After practicing general orthopaedics for several years he traveled to multiple centers throughout the US in 1993, receiving advanced training in knee, shoulder, and hip management. Since that time he has focused his practice on these three areas. He was one of the primary developers and is Medical Director of Sequoia Hospital's Joint Restoration Program. He lives in Redwood City with his wife and two sons.
